Le Conseil décide de faire une déclaration sur la votation du traité EEE en soulignant l'intolérance du débat actuel et l'importance de cette question pour l'avenir de la Suisse. Sont également discutés de nombreux points, dont: la candidature de Genève pour le suivi de Rio, l'affaire Haas, le paquet Eurolex, la NLFA, la participation de la Suisse à l'IDA-10, l'accueil de 1'500 réfugiés bosniaques et le musée de la Croix-Rouge.
