Der Bundesrat genehmigt die Durchführung der diplomatischen Konferenz für die Bereinigung, Verabschiedung und Unterzeichnung der Weltkonvention über die Kontrolle des grenzüberschreitenden Verkehrs mit gefährlichen Abfällen in Basel am 20. und 21.3.1989. Damit kann die Schweiz ihre internationale Führungsrolle im Bereich des Umweltschutzes unterstreichen.
