Nach den teilweise etwas stereotypen Gesprächen in Khartum war die zusätzlich Erkundung des Südens und des Nordens des Sudans wichtig, weil hier die enorme Sprengkraft der beiden Landesteile mit anderer Geschichte und Kultur erst richtig erkennbar wurden.
