Le Chancellier allemand Kohl a été l'hôte du Conseiller fédéral Cotti au Tessin, dans un cadre privé, le 7.8.1993. Pendant un dîner au Festival de Locarno, auquel ont participé le Président de la Confédération Ogi et la Conseillière fédérale Dreifuss, Kohl a montré son profond engagement en faveur de la CE. Il n'imagine pas que la Suisse puisse être absente de la construction européenne.
