No 12/78. Meeting with Mr Pierre Aubert

The Irish Ambassador met the new Foreign Minister Pierre Aubert. Aubert expressed some surprise that Ireland was a neutral country and yet a memeber of the EC. He then said that he wished to have regular bilateral contacts with Ireland as as neutral state. The Irish Ambassador believes that this issue was raised by Mr. Aubert on the spur of the moment.
