The repatriation program for American citizens resident in Cuba was extended to encompass non-citizen immediate family members in order to keep family units together. According to the US-Coordinator of Cuban Affairs, the repatriation program cannot be used to bring Cubans to the US, for this matter, normal immigration or refugee airlift procedures exist.
