Swissam"Am 11.7.1939 nahm die mit einem Kapital von 3 Millionen Dollar ausgestattete "Swiss American Corporation" ihre Tätigkeit auf. Als Leiter konnte der bisherige Mitinhaber des in Liquidation getretenen Bankhauses Speyer & Co, Georg N. Lindsay, gewonnen werden, während als Vorsitzender des Verwaltungsrats der Präsident der amerikanischen Nestlé-Unternehmungen, Daniel F. Norton, gewählt wurde". Cf.
