Décision de créer ce groupe lors de sa 53e session le 2.7.1972. L'ancien CF Schaffner fait partie de ce groupe qui remet son rapport le 22.5.1974.
UN/Economic Commission for Africareports to UN/Economic and Social Council Créée en 1958, la CEA est l'une des cinq commissions régionales qui relève, administrativement, du Siège de l'ONU. En tant qu'organe régional de l'ONU en Afrique, elle a pour mandat d'appuyer le développement économique et social de ses 53 membres, d'encourager l'intégration régionale et de promouvoir la coopération internationale pour le développement de l'Afrique. Elle fait rapport au Conseil économique et social de l'ONU (ECOSOC).
