Bern Legation Records, both the General Records (Entry 3207), and the Economic Section of the Legation (Entry 3220).  This has been a tremendous amount of material, over 30 boxes. There have been some interesting documents, but these have been few and far between.  The vast majority of documents are routine administrative documents between Washington and Bern.

RG 84, Records of the Foreign Service Posts of the Department of State, US Legation in Bern, Entry 3220 Economic Section

Box 1-8 - These were checked out to different researcher and unavailable.

Box 11 Proclaimed List - These filesprimarily detail specific actions against individual firms, especially Sulzer Bros. Seems to indicate that Legation favored softer line than MEW or Washington, but unfortunately there was little of use.

Box 22 Office Memoranda folder - No useful files contained here.

Trade Agreement Folder - This was concerned with minutiae on trade issues, with little discussion of broader concerns.

Box 23 American Swiss Negotiations Folder - This contained minutes of meeting with Swiss representatives, little light shed on internal US/British debates.

Box 32 Economic Matters Germany Folder- While this folder contains some interesting reporting on conditions in Germany, there were no insights into US policy making.

Box 41 American Swiss Negotiations Folder - These files included a summary history of Swiss/US negotiations and some interesting memos.

Box 42-46 - unexamined
