Im British House of Commons wurde diskutiert, dass die Schweiz noch immer ein sicherer Hafen für Nazis und ihre Gelder sei. Vgl. hierfür Artikel in Die Nation vom 23.7.1947. Es folgt eine englische Teilübersetzung des Artikels.
"In view of the failure of the Swiss Compensation Office to furnish details with respect to the census of the German assets in Switzerland requested by the Joint Commission on October 3 1946 the Legation is not in a position to comment with respect to the above quoted allegation that these assets have considerably diminished in value." (p.3)

Zeugenaussagen von Deutschen, die kürzlich von China repatriiert wurden, bestätigen, dass dt. Firmen in China mit Vermögenswerten in der Schweiz ihre blockierten Konten an chinesische Importfirmen verkauft haben, welche diese Gelder zum Einkauf von Waren aus der Schweiz aufgebraucht und ehemaligen dt. Besitzer in China mit Goldbarren oder mit Shanghai Dollars ausbezahlt haben. Diese Transaktionen fanden zwischen Mai und August 1945 statt. Ein dt. Broker sagt aus "According to Swiss exchange regulations, such transactions could take place only after investigation that a bona fide purchase was basis of transfer. Therefore, it usually took some weeks until confirmation of authorized transfer was received from Switzerland."
Es folgt eine Aufstellung mit dem Titel "Swiss Franc Sales through the Deutsch Asiatische Bank in Shanghai". Häufigster Schweizer Geldempfänger ist die BBC und die Schweizer Handelszentrale.

Unter den neutralen Staaten verwaltet die Schweiz rund 1 Mrd. Sfr. dt. Vermögen. Dies entspricht der höchsten Summe an dt. Gelder im Ausland. Unter den blockierten Vermögen befinden sich auch Gelder von Deutschen, die sich schon vor der Kapitulation and teils sogar schon vor 1939 in der Schweiz oder im Ausland befunden haben. Die Schweizer Behörden haben verschiedene Male erklärt, dass diese Vermögen nicht als dt. Auslandsvermögen im eigentlichen Sinne betrachtet werden. Sie haben deren Deblockierung bis Ende 1947 in Aussicht gestellt.

Weiterleitung der Nachricht vom Generalkonsul in Basel: die von der SVSt zwangseröffneten 30 Depots bei der SBG weisen sehr wenig Inhalt auf. Einige Depots waren sogar leer. "Those familiar with the history of German financial operations in Switzerland here insist that the Allied authorities in their search for German assets in Switzerland are on the wrong trail if they think they can find any considerable German assets in safety deposit boxes in Switzerland, issued in the names of Germans. They point out that Allied authorities have not to do with crude financial operators but with men who have become experts at camouflaging and disposing abroad their assets."
"Swiss here consulted on this subject suggest that the inquiries be extended to the heads of the leading manufacturing companies and of Swiss exporting and importing concerns who have for the past quarter of a century or more enjoyed a lion's share of German Swiss trade. These heads or their assistant heads, they believe, have in many instances been willing tools of the Germans in hiding German assets abroad and in Switzerland."
