Die afghanische Gesandtschaft in Bern ist seit 1945 nur mit einem Geschäftsträger a.i. besetzt, der mit den konsularischen Angelegenheiten betraut ist. Der afghanische Gesandte in Paris ist derweil u.a. auch für die Schweiz zuständig. Ab 1955 ist die afghanische Gesandtschaft in Bern im Staatskalender nicht mehr aufgeführt.
Ab 1958 ist die afghanische Gesandtschaft in Bonn-Venusberg für die Schweiz zuständig.
